Layman Brewing is a cozy WI corner bar offering quality traditional brews from our in-house nano-brewery, along with simple, tasty pub fare and a relaxed atmosphere.

Banoffee Dubbel

Malty, a little hazy, hefty, and very smooth. Notes of butterscotch & banana bread. Let this one warm up for best flavor. 7% ABV

Rowdy Raw D Piper

A Raw Stout with chocolate malt, coffee, & molasses. Pasteurized but NOT boiled! It’s like if cold brew was a beer! Refreshing and poundable. 3.8% ABV

Bam Bam

Belgian Amber. Sweet and a little spicy, red in color, medium in body. 6.2% ABV

Smokey Pils

Grain-y pilsner sweetness, with a subtle smoke flavor. 4.6% ABV

Red-headded Stepchild

An Irish Red Wheat with an extra belt of hoppy freshness. 5% ABV

Bog Standard IPA

What an IPA used to be about 20 years ago. Unfiltered, darker, & on the malty side, with a balanced bitterness that just keeps on going. A straightforward IPA for those with nothing to prove. 7.9% ABV

Tried Layman on a whim. All I can say is what a fun place with great employees, beer, and food. We visited on a Thursday night. By the time we left we knew the owners, the bartender, and might have become fast friends with the other customers if there was time. A very welcoming atmosphere. This is a hidden gem in Milwaukee. It’s honestly one of the best, if not the best burger in the city. The owners are super passionate about their business and providing excellent food and service.
